Let Us Now Praise Libraries
Author Anthony Doerr recently wrote a piece in the Boston Sunday Globe about the importance of libraries. It's a beautiful bit of writing that speaks to the magic of reading and how important books are to us, not as something to be forced down because they're good for us, "they're not giant horse pills stuffed with mental-multi-vitamin-dust meant to be choked down before dessert," but something to be savored. "Some books are roasted lobsters soaked with butter; some are molten tubs of dark chocolate..." It's worth a moment to read the entire article and you can do that here. Now I'm off for some lobster...
