MINUTES
HANCOCK LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
May 30, 2012


Present: Mary Garland, Amy Markus, Laurie Bryan, Peter Ryner

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 am.

The previous minutes were approved.
The Treasurer's report was approved.

After some discussion the Board approved the hiring of Theresa Earle to work 7 hours per week on Saturdays. It was agreed that hiring Theresa without public advertising for the position was in keeping with the Board's policy of first making the position available in-house, and Theresa, due to having volunteered for some time at the Library, will need minimal training for the duties required of the Saturday staff person.

Amy indicated that volunteers are needed to assist with the Library's pumpkin patch. Peter also requested that at its next meeting the Board consider replacing the existing street-side Hancock Library sign, and also suggested that to retain visibility, it should probably be located to the left side of the front door.

The next meeting of the Board will be June 27th at 9:00 am.
