Women of Swing
with Stephanie Hurley and Chris
Albertson
Vocalist Stephanie Hurley and
jazz guitarist Chris Albertson will be presenting a “Women of Swing” program at
the library on Thursday April 13th at 7:00 PM. Songs made famous by
such masters as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Rosemary
Clooney, Diana Krall and others’ famous works will be performed. Perspectives
on their lives will be discussed in honor of these unique artists. Stephanie
Hurley is a versatile vocalist in musical theater, jazz, pop, Irish and
classical styles. Her rich, smooth mezzo-soprano voice demonstrates a masterful
vocal technique accompanied by an intuitive sense of timing and thoughtful
expressiveness. Her inviting vocal style can be also heard these days with the
Bedford Big Band. Chris Albertson is a jazz, blues, rock and classical
guitarist, composer, arranger, percussionist and public school music educator.
Chris has been heard on stages throughout New England with The Platters, Amy
London, the Vermont Philharmonic, The Best of Times, Straight No Chaser, and
numerous others. He has produced 5 solo CD’s and been a guest guitarist and
arranger on a number of others. Free and open to all.
