Food For Overdues at Hancock Town Library

Do you have overdue materials? Have you been donating to the Conscience Jar at the front desk? For the months of November, December, and January, we would like you to donate non-perishable food items (we have a box for donations of food here at the library) for the Peterborough Food Bank instead of change for the Conscience Jar. Drop off your donations at the front desk anytime we're open, whether you're overdue or not!

Here are some of the items they need:

Canned beef stew
Canned soups (chicken noodle, tomato and any chunky-style)
Canned peas, beans or corn
Macaroni & Cheese
Peanut butter & jelly
Jello (any kind, including sugar free)
Canned fruit (fruit cocktail is a favorite)
Spaghetti & spaghetti sauce
Pancake mix
Tuna
Oatmeal
Spam

For Thanksgiving they could use stuffing in a BOX (bags break too easily) and turkey gravy in a can (again, bottles break). No cranberry sauce or pumpkin pie filling is needed.

And please, NO EXPIRED FOOD - the food bank must pay to have expired food taken away.

The Peterborough Food Bank feeds 22 towns in our region, including Hancock, and this year demand is up while supplies are low. Please consider a donation even if you don't have overdue materials at this time. Thank you!
