....support your local library! Jon Katz is the author of many books (The Dogs of Bedlam Farm, Dog Days, Izzy & Lenore) about life on his farm in upstate New York and his dogs of all breeds. His new book is Soul of a Dog: Reflections on the Spirits of the Animals of Bedlam Farm. Here's what he had to say in one of his recent blog posts:

We live in a country that bails out banks and insurance companies but tosses libraries over the side. The Monson Free Library, along with so many others, is desperately needed in its community, and needs help to stave off budget cuts and continue to operate.
