Celebrate Fat Tuesday with Louis Armstrong
Grab your beads and your beignets and join us for
Fat Tuesday in the Daniels Room at the Hancock Town Library!
In the beginning
there was Satchmo…Louis
Armstrong. He was the grandson of slaves and an iconic trumpeter and vocalist
who brought jazz from the brothels of Storyville, New Orleans to the bright
lights of New York City. Kid Ory, King Oliver and Fletcher Henderson were
players in Armstrong's influential rise to stardom while the Chicago and New
York mob fought over this charismatic jazz star. Vocalist Nanette
Perrotte adds this classic jazz from the Big Easy to her her
portfolio of interactive multi artform jazz presentations. Laissez le
bon temps rouler! Free and open to all thanks to the Friends of the
Library.
