Hancock Library Trustees Minutes

Present: Laurie Bryan, Amy Markus, Peter Ryner, Eric Spitzbarth, Suzanne Shevenell
The December 18, 2013 minutes were approved.
The Treasurer’s report was approved.
Amy reported that she decided to purchase the Apollo library system, and over the next several weeks she will receive training, in anticipation of bringing it online by late spring. The Apollo system is web-hosted, and will provide a number of new features, such as the ability to review the Library’s holdings, and to renew or reserve a book from one’s home.
The Board voted to accept a donation of $5,000, which was received in January.
There was then a general discussion of budget and inventory issues. Eric reported that the Town has hired a contractor who will create a computer-based inventory of Town assets. There was general agreement that the Library needs to update its inventory and that there may be an opportunity to coordinate with the Town’s efforts. Suzanne indicated an interest in working on this issue.
The next meeting will be on March 26th.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 2:00 pm.
